In a true romance tale, comic-book nerd Clarence (Christian Slater) and prostitute Alabama (Patricia Arquette) fall in love. After Clarence kills Alabama's pimp and mistakenly takes a suitcase of cocaine, they hit the road to California. However, they soon find themselves pursued by the mob. Clarence must figure out a way to sell the cocaine and save their lives.
